Misty Created the Jefferson County ILGen Web Site and she did a terrific job. She devoted many hours to provide useful, informative information to anyone researching in Jefferson County. I know that she helped many people and the information that she has provided will continue to help everyone. Most important of all was Misty's family she was a dedicated Mother to five Children, they were her Pride and Joy. She was so very proud of her children. She will be missed. |
Flannigan was a beautician. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and a volunteer at Dahlgren Grade School. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Chalon, Colby, Chadlee and Challis Flannigan, all of Dahlgren; a daughter, Caleia Flannigan of Dahlgren; her mother of Chaffee, Mo.; four sisters, Glinda Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, Stephanie Thompson of Chaffee, Vanessa Murry of Sedgewickville, Mo., Junell Parrett of Dupo, Ill.; and a brother, Elvin Ladd Jr. of Jackson. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother and a half sister. |

Michael S. Gregory, Sr. of Eastlake, OH passed away on March
16, 2001.
He was born in Corning, AR on March 6, 1937 and was predeceased by his parents William R. Gregory, Sr. and Lucille Stanfield Gregory. He is survived by three sons, Michael, Jr. of Eastlake, Brian
S. of Painesville, OH, and Steven C. of Madison, OH; and
Mr. Gregory was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Allen Bradley Company. He was a member of the First Christian Church in East Prairie, MO. |

Fred contributed so much to researchers in We must remember that Fred's work was done before the days of computers. Fred is also one of the people who read the marriage records and printed them one by one so they are available on the Illinois Marriage Index at the State site. According to his obituary, he had just finished the Cemetery Book when he died at age 90! I wonder what we might provide for others when we are 90! The work of Fred Justice has helped so many. His work will live on to help many generations to come. |
FRED JUSTICE SR., 90, 1500 Viola Avenue, a well-known historian of Jefferson County
died at 4:35 a.m. today in Good Samaritan Hospital. He was a 30 year employee of
the Mt. Vernon Post Office before his retirement in 1964.
Mr. Justice, known for his genealogy research of Jefferson County, was born in Mt. Vernon February 28, 1894, the son of William and Fannie (COOK) Justice. On June 14, 1919, he married Grace M. Tucker, who died September 19, 1960. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. William Causer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Fred Justice, Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren, Mrs. Richard (Janet) GARRETSON, John, James, Jeffrey and Jay Justice and Jill RICHARDSON; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Justice compiled several volumes of genealogical data, known as the Fred Justice Collection, which are in the C. E. Brehm Memorial Library. He had just completed a book on burials in Jefferson County. A member of the Jefferson County Historical Society and the Mt. Vernon Genealogical Society, he had been honored by these organizations and the Illinois Genealogical Society. Mr. Justice was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of the First Community Church in Mt. Vernon, and he was preceded in death by his parents and one great-granddaughter. |
