Thomas W. Bryan

Thos. W. BRYAN, died at his home in East Mt. Vernon at 10 o'clock 
this morning aged 71 years, 6 months, and 8 days. 
The funeral will be held at the family residence at 1 o'clock tomorrow 
afternoon.  Interment at Salem cemetery. 
Deceased was married to Miss Melea Ann Carpenter at Shelbyville, 
Tenn., Aug. 31, 1874(sic) who survives him.  A few weeks after their 
marriage Mr. and Mrs. Bryan removed to this county and have resided 
here ever since.  Deceased leaves five children to mourn his death, one 
son and four daughters, of whom one of the latter resides at Wichita Falls, 
Texas.  Mr. Bryan enlisted in the Fifth Illinois Calvary in 1862 and served 
throughout the war of the rebellion.  The friends of the family are invited to 
attend the funeral. 

Thomas and Melea were married in 1849, not 1874.
