WILLIAM C. COWGER, deceaed, was born in Wilson County, Tenn., February 15, 1828, and was a son of Adam Cowger, deceased.

The subject of this sketch came to this oounty in 1850, where he lived until his death, which occurred February 15, 1883.

He followed teaming several years, and ran a livery stable in Mt. Vernon about twelve years.

He was married in July, 1849, to Abigail SUTER, by whom he had one child-William A., born June 29,1850, and died January 24, 1874. Mrs. Cowger was born in Bedford County, Teun., in 1833, and is a daughter of William Suter, deceased.
