His father George Jones was a native of Virginia, but died in Indiana. The mother of our subject, Mary A. After practicing ten months he removed to Mount Vernon February 1, 1881, where he is now engaged in the practice of his profession, enjoying the confidence and esteem of a large number of people in both town and country, and building for himself an enviable reputation.

He is a member of the A., F. & A. M., Marion Lodge, No. 31. In politics, he has been identified with the Democratic party, and for the last two years has filled the office of County Physician with tact and ability.
