The New Store was a bit different.  The "New Store" wasn't really new as a building. That had been there as long as I can remember. But it was in business as a grocery store for many years, then sat idle for a few years. When it opened back up, us kids at least started, and I'm not sure about the grown-ups started calling it the "New Store" and that name stuck for as long as I was there.

Sometime, there was a transition from a Grocery Store to a Cafe. Over the years, it transitioned to be the Bluford Cafe, and that has been owned by a number of different people. It is interesting that the building has remained in place and in business (most of the time at least) over all these years, but unlike the other "permanent fixtures" mentioned, this one has seen many changes in ownership as well as the gradual transition from Grocery Store to Cafe.
