*NOTE* From Carol Hounsell and Ann Stoddard, mother and daughter from California While researching our Wilkerson roots in Jefferson County last month we located the Wilkerson Farm Cemetery. It is located on property off Liberty Road in Mt. Vernon. We do not believe this is the original marker. The owner of the property told us that a man came from Washington and had this stone placed. The owner has moved this stone a couple of times to accommodate road work he has done. But near as he can figure the graves are under the hen house. The owner of the property is a distant Wilkerson relative.We are certain that the graves of John Wilkerson, Jane Whitman, his first wife and Martha Conner, his second wife are here.
