Jefferson County has a thriving DAR chapter, Old Goshen Trail, in Mt. Vernon, IL. The chapter website is: https://www.ildar.org/chapters/oldgoshentrail/ |
This is a list obtained through the Ancestry.com website of the The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Lineage books.
Ella Dillingham Taylor (second on the list) was my gr-gr-aunt and raised my grandfather in East St. Louis. I was actually looking for Dillinghams (also of Mt. Vernon) as I knew Vachel Dillingham, my 4g-grandfather also served in the Revolutionary War. That would make Ella and her sister Dora (my great grandmother) double qualified for the DAR. :-) Anyway, I thought it might make a good addition to the Jeff County website since both the Paces and the Dillinghams are local. Use it as you wish. Best Regards, Jerry Price Posted May 26, 2000 |
