Thomas Ballard
Know ye that we Thomas M. Ballard & Nancy A. Ballard wife of the said Thomas M. Ballard for and inconsideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid by Robert M. Ballard The recept(sic) where of is hereby acknowledged, doth by these present grant Bargan, sell, and convey unto the said Robert M. Ballard his "heirs" and assigns forever the following described Real Estate. Togeather (sic) with all and singular the appurtenances there to belonging that is to say the North East fourth of the North west fourth of section nineteen in Township three south of range three "East containing 60 10/00" also South East quarter of south West quarter of section eighteen in Township three South Range three East containing Forty nine Acres and Forty Eight hundreds more or less And the said Thomas M. Ballard for himself, his heirs Executors and Administrators, doth covenant to and with the said Robert M. Ballard his heirs executors administrators and assigns that he is well sized of the above described premises and will forever warrant and defend the title there to against the claims of any and all persons whomsoever and the said Nancy A. Ballard wife of the said Thomas M. Ballard who joins in this conveyance for that purpose in consideration of the premises doth by these present release, relinquish and forward quit claim unto the said Robert M. Ballard his heirs and assigns forever all right of Dower which may now or hereafter vest in her as the wife of the said Thomas M. Ballard in testimony whereof the said Thomas M. Ballard and Nancy A. Ballard his wife have hereunto set hands and seals this 13th day of February A.D. 1852 his

State of Illinois Be it remembered that on this 13th day of February 1852 before the under signed a justice of the peace and for said personaly appeared Thomas M. Ballard and Nancy A. his wife, both personally known to me as the real persons who have subscribed and sealed the foregoing Deed of conveyance and bring before me, respectively acknowledge the same to be there free and voluntary act and (did ?) for the purposes there in mentioned. And the said Nancy A. Ballard wife of the said Thomas M. Ballard being by me examined seperate and apart from her said husband and made aquinted with the contracts, and effect of said Deed of conveyance acknowledged that she had Executed the same freely and voluntarily, without the or compulsion of her husband and that she relinquished all right of Dower to the premises thereby conveyed which may now or here after vest in her as the wife of the said Thomas M. Ballard all of which is hereby certified the day and date aforsaid Elisha Wilson JP
