Earl Bryan Adams
Earl Bryan Adams, 75, of 517 S. 18th St. died today at 9:15 a.m. at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Adams was born in Jefferson County on May 16, 1896, the son of Ed and Nancy (Bumpus) Adams. He was married in Belleville on Dec. 23, 1922 to V. Blanche Garrison, who survives. An Army veteran, he was past District Commander of the Veterans of World War I, a member of the American Legion, a past Master of the Mt. Vernon Lodge 31, A.F & A.M., and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon. He was a retired employee for many years of International Shoe Co. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel, with Dr. Clyde Funkhouser officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. Masonic services will be held at Myers Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Military services will be in the charge of the Veterans of World War I. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Blanche; a son, Kenneth Earl Adams, Oak Creek, Wis.; a brother, Curtis Adams, Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Mrs. Evalo Canning, St. Louis and Mrs. Bertie McGonigal, Mt. Vernon;; and three grandchildren.
