Elizabeth Peavler Adams
Elizabeth PEAVLER was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, December 25, 1846, and departed this life in Mt. Vernon, IL, April 13, 1916; aged 69y3m18d. In 1874, she was united in marriage to Lynn ADAMS, who departed this life several years ago. Two children were born to this union, both girls. These children died when quite young. Mrs. ADAMS was converted a child and united with the M.E. Church in Tennessee. In 1869 the family came to Spring Garden, IL where her church membership has been held for years. Her home was at Spring Garden until she came to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Florence BURNETT, 609 Broadway, Mt. Vernon. She leaves seven sisters as follows: Mrs. Florence BURNETT, Mrs. Susan McCULLOUGH, Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Barbary BIRKHEAD and Mrs. Delia CLINTON of Ina, IL; Mrs. Virginia POSTON and Mrs. Martha GILES, of East St. Louis, IL; and Mrs. Luvenia LAUGHLAN, Cornland, IL. The funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. BURNETT, 609 Broadway, Mt. Vernon, Friday at 8:30 a.m., and in charge of Dr. William T. CLINE, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. The interment will take place at the cemetery in Ina, beside that of her husband and daughters.
