Charles Edward Allen
CHARLES EDWARD ALLEN, Respected Resident of Bonnie Charles Edward ALLEN, life long resident of this section died at his home near Bonnie, Saturday. He was 72 years old. He is survived by his widow, three sons and four daughters, the sons are; Earl, Ronald, Robert and one of the daughter is Mrs. Trellie CAMPBELL, residing near Ina. Mr. Allen served this township several terms as constable and was holding that office at the time of his death. He had been ill for the past several weeks. He was a good neighbor and a worthy citizen and a true friend. With the exceptions of two brothers, Richard ALLEN of Bonnie and William ALLEN of Sesser, he is the last of his family—one of the early settlers of this township. Funeral was held at the Bonnie M. E. Church at 10 O’clock Monday. Services were conducted by Rev. C. E. HESTER of Mt. Vernon followed by burial in the Kirk Cemetery. Source: Mt.
