Earl ALLEN, 79, Bonnie, died at 11:20 a.m. Saturday in the Jeffersonian Nursing Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mr. ALLEN was born in Jefferson County December 26, 1924, in Bonnie.

He married Freda MERRIMAN who preceded him in death November 16, 1982.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Jefferson County Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service. He served for two years as community committeeman and 30 years as elected county committeeman for the ASCS.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. David SCHLAG officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He is survived by four sons, Paul, Lowell and Buddy ALLEN all of Bonnie, and Donald ALLEN of Mattoon; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Norma) HARVILL of Bonnie; one sister, Margaret TROUT of Centralia; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ray ALLEN; one granddaughter, Vera ALLEN; five sisters and two brothers.
