Rites Friday for Margaret E. Allen

Margaret Ellen Allen, widow of the late Charles Allen, died at 6:20 am yesterday at the home of her grandson, Angus Cockrum, on RFD 1.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday at Hopewell church and burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born February 5, 1856 in Hamilton county, the daughter of Jerome and Becky Ann (Allan) Woolridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, August 7, 1924. Surviving are one son, L.B. Allen of McLeansboro; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Price, Mrs. W. O. Karch of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Phillip O. Karch of Opdyke; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. One son and one daughter also preceded her in death.

The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel until 10 am Friday.
