Dearest one, we must lay thee
In the peaceful graves embrace,
But thy memory will be cherished
Til we see thy heavenly face
Peaceful by thy silent slumber,
Peaceful in thy grave so low,
Thou no more will join our number
Thou no more our songs willknow.
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled,
And in Heaven, with joy to greetthee
Where no farewell, tears are shed.
Mrs. Hattie Hicks
