Mary Ester Andrews
Mary Ester Andrews, 80, Oak Park, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, was dead on arrival at 3:30 pm Monday at the Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park. Mrs. Andrews was born in Mena, Ark., May 21, 1903, the daughter of Marion and Viva (Stephenson) Jackson. On Feb 1, 1925, in Gillespie, she married Coy W. Andrews, who died Sept. 27, 1977. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Sunday at the Hughey Funeral Home with Bruce Hough officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors include one son, Robert "Bob" Andrews and his wife, Betty, of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Esther) Lindblad of Chicago and Mrs. Frank (Barbara) Griggs of Quincy; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Jackson of Joliet, Bond Jackson of San Diego and Robert Jackson of Vallejo, Calif.; two sisters, Elizabeth Jackson of New York City and Dorothy Cornett of Lexington, Ky., and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Andrews was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Jackson. church, with the Rev.
