Helen Arnaud, 90, of Mt. Vernon died 5:17 p.m. May 11, 2006, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Arnaud was born March 10, 1916, in Osage County, Mo., to Ferdinand and Henrietta (Trosser) Jaegers.

She married Ashton J. Arnaud June 30, 1936, in Creve Coeur, Mo.; he preceded her in death in December of 1976.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Merritt Strickland will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Arnaud is survived by two daughters, Margaret Arnaud of Mt. Vernon and Linda George and husband Larry of Mt. Vernon; a son, Lee Arnaud and wife Kathryn of Bluford; a sister, Theresa Adkins of Truxton, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, with one expected in December; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers; two sisters; a son, Carl Arnaud; a daughter, Loraine Meador; and two grandchildren.

For the past six years, Mrs. Arnaud stayed at the home of her daughter, Linda. Her life was her family, who know she loved them dearly. She also loved the outdoors and fishing.
