Lester LaVern Baldwin, 89, of Route 6, Mt. Vernon and late of Casey Care Center in Mt. Vernon, died 6:25 pm Jan. 19, 1995, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center.

Mr. Baldwin was a farmer for several years and later was employed by Bendix Corp. of South Bend, Ind., until retirement.

He was born Feb. 26, 1905, in Jefferson County, a son of Eli William and Mary (Rummel) Baldwin.

Graveside services will be 1 pm Saturday at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Olen Weatherford officiating. Those attending the graveside services are asked to go directly to the cemetery on Saturday afternoon. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm today at Hughey Funeral Home.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by a sister, Helen Miller of Heber Springs, Ark.; three nephews, Richard Buescher and wife Mary of Mt. Vernon, Clinton Webb and wife Bobbie of Mishawaka, Ind., and Byron Tennison and wife Joyce of Fort Myers, Fla.; four nieces, Evelyn Hitson and husband Robert of Lakeville, Ind., Mildred Santos and husband Robert of Los Altos, Calif., Carolyn Reaves and husband Wayne of Ramsey, Mill., and Kathy Hardman of South Bend, Ind.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
