Eliza Alice (Courson) Balsover
Eliza Balsover Dies at Age 67; Rites Tomorrow Mrs. Eliza Alice Balsover died at 2:10 p.m. Sunday at her home, 14th and Oak streets, at the age of 67 years, ten months and 12 days. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Myers chapel, with Edwin v. Hayden officiating and burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mrs. Balsover was born September 23, 1883 in Marion county, but had been a resident of Mt. Vernon most of her lifetime. She was married to C.A. Balsover, who survives. She joined the Christian church in Marion county in 1904 and later united with the Central Church of Christ in Mt. Vernon, of which she was a member at the time of her death. Surviving, besides her husband, are one son; Ivan Pigg of Mt. Vernon; one daughter, Mrs. Opal Puckett of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Ed Courson of Farina, ILL.; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Campbell of Salem and Mrs. Martha Cockrell of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers.
