Jennie Ruth Barbee, 75, of Wayne City died 11:15 pm Tuesday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

She was retired social worker for the Department of Rehabilitation state of Illinois, in the Mt. Vernon office.

Mrs. Barbee was born September 10, 1920 in Jefferson County, a daughter of Albert and Goldie (Risley) Finn.

She married Frank Barbee, who preceded her in death.

Services will be 10 am Friday at the Wayne City Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Steed officiating. Burial will be in the Dahlgren I.O.O.F Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 pm Thursday at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City and after 9 am at the Wayne City Baptist Church until service time.

Mrs. Barbee is survived by one son, Robert and Wife Irene Barbee of Wayne City; three grandchildren, Ronald and wife Tammy Barbee of Wayne City, Patricia and Kent Loker of Wayne City and Ricky and wife Jean Barbee of East Prairie, Mo.; and three great grandchildren, Olivia Barbee, Justin Stover and Megan Loker.

She was a member of the Baptist Church in Wayne City.

Mrs. Barbee was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother Harold Finn.
