Myrtle Barva
Myrtle Barva, 91, 109 N. 15th St., and late of Nature Trail Nursing Home, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday at the nursing home. She was born June 21, 1894, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Louis and Julie [Rosselott] Barva. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Melvin Vandeloo officiating. Burial will be in St.Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Hughey Funeral Home. Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Survivors indlude four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ulrich and Mrs. Margaret Melton of Mt.Vernon. Mrs. Agnes Minor of Cambria, Iowa. And, Mrs. Aline Wicks of Mt.Vernon; one brother, Leo Barva of Plantation, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her parents, four brothers, William, Paul, Louis, and Manuel Barva; and one sister, Lillian Barva. She was retired from the Mt.Vernon Shoe Factory after working there 30 years. She was a member of the St.Mary's Catholic Church of of the Ladies Sodality.
