Larry M. "Butch" Beal
Larry M. "Butch" Beal, 66, of Lockport and formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 3:30 p.m. Oct. 13, 2004, at Joliet Area Hospice Home in Joliet. He was owner/operator of Midway Enterprise in Hinsdale, retiring in 1996. Mr. Beal was born March 19, 1938, in Jefferson County to Thurston and Edna Fern (Fields) Beal. He married Edna (Higgins) Beal. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. DeWayne Heil will officiate. Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery in rural Jefferson County. Friends may call from noon Monday until the funeral hour at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Beal is survived by his wife, Edna Beal of Lockport; daughters Robin Parker and husband Dave of Lockport, Connie Beal of Lockport, Vickie Burnett and husband Charles of Barlow, Ky., and Jane Stepanek and husband John of Channahon; grandchildren Nicholas Sprinkle, Natalie Burnett, Jessica Stepanek, Zachary Stepanek and Sarah Stepanek; a sister, Darlene Mauer and husband Gene of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Darrel “Bert” Beal and an infant brother. Mr. Beal was a member of Bensenville Moose Lodge. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Joliet Area Hospice or East Salem Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
