A. Marie Bean, 93, of Mt. Vernon died 6:10 a.m. July 21, 2003, at her home. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bean was born July 27, 1909, in Jefferson County to G.A. Reynolds and Maggie (Nowland) Reynolds.

She married Stanton O. Bean Nov. 9, 1931, in Roxanna; he died July 28, 1997.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Troy Warner will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the funeral hour Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bean was loved and will be remembered by her son, Robert H. Bean and wife Doralea of Roswell, N.M.; a daughter, Janet S. Gillespie of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren Debra Bean Isaacs and husband Kevin of Brookfield, Conn., Dawn Marie Bean Briske of Albuquerque, N.M., Sandra Bean Carrica and husband Michael of Roswell, N.M., Mark Clark and Harlene Ritenour of Summerduck, Va., DeAnna Clark of Simpsonville, S.C. and Vickie Anderson and husband Gene of Raleigh, N.C.; great-grandchildren Kameron Isaacs, Zachary Isaacs, Jackson Isaacs, Cheryl Briske, Shannon Marie Briske, Jamie Briske, Kate Marie Carrica, Renee Carrica, Lara Carrica, Derek Carrica, Jessica Clark Messer, Jeremy Clark, Lyndsey Anderson and Kyleigh Anderson; great-great-grandchildren Adam Barela, Alexis Clark and Alana Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bean was a member of First Baptist Church, the Women’s Mission Society and the Becky Trask Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; two sisters; and son-in-law Marc Gillespie.

Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or First Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
