John F. BEARD, Sr., of 1104 Westcott, died a 1:00 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 56 years, 8 months, and 17 days old.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Paul SULCER officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. BEARD was born December 20, 1905, in Nason, the son of Amos F. and Ida May (WEECH) BEARD.

On March 2, 1923, at Ina, he was married to Edna CLINTON who survives.

He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edna WILSON of Aurora, Mrs. Marjorie DAGG and Mrs. Lela Mae BAILEY, both of Mt. Vernon; four sons, John F. BEARD and Donald BEARD, both of Aurora, and Ronald BEARD of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Laura PITCHFORD of Nason; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. BEARD was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
