Ralph Beauford
Ralph Ereatus Beauford, a retired painter and plasterer, died at 5:55 am today at his home, 401 Opdyke avenue. His age was 75 years, seven months and 23 days. Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Pulley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marsh Harpoole and the Rev. Bird Green officiating and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call at any time after 10 am Saturday. Mr. Beauford, who had been in failing health for several years, had been in critical condition for the past two weeks. He was born June 1, 1874 in Mt. Vernon, the son of William M. and Frances Caroline ( Harris ) Beauford. On August 17, 1895 he was married in Mt. Vernon, to Mary Owens who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Emma Brown of Mt. Vernon; a sister Leona Rainey of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a daughter, two sisters and a brother.
