Anna B. Beckham
Anna B. Beckham, 71, of Mt. Vernon died 9:30 a.m. May 19, 1995, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor. She was a housewife. Born in Jefferson County on March 18, 1924, she was a daughter of Willie Ellis and Clara E. (Carter) Ellis. She married Joe Beckham, who died in 1980. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Richard McCormick officiating. Burial is at Smith Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Beckham is survived by five sons; Joedy Beckham of Selman, Texas, Bill Beckham and wife Sherry of Bonnie, Darrell Beckham and wife Jo Ann of Belle Rive, Pee Wee Beckham and wife Lisa of Selman City, Texas, and Lyle Dean Beckham and wife Tina of Opdyke; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Walters, and husband Terry of Dade City, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers; Verle Ellis of Texas, Clyde Ellis of Bluford and Bobby Joe Ellis of Mt. Vernon; and two sisters, Imogene Bigley of Mt. Vernon and Louise Sinclair of Kell. She was a Baptist and member of Mt. Vernon VFW Post 1376. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Beckham was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry; a granddaughter; two brothers; and two sisters.
