David L. Beckham, 26, of Sterling and formerly of Mt. Vernon, died 6:30 a.m. on May 8, 2007, in Sterling.

He was born on April 27, 1981, in Mt. Vernon to Darrell Beckham and Joann (Biggerstaff) Beckham of Belle Rive.

He was engaged to Lisa Berry of Sterling. He worked at Chadwick Manufacturing in Chadwick.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn with the Reverend Garlin Burris officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

David is survived by his parents Darrell Beckham and Joann (Biggerstaff) Beckham of Belle Rive; fiancee Lisa Berry of Sterling; two sons, David L. Beckham Jr. of Alma and Kole Eugene Beckham of Sterling; a daughter, Haley Beckham of Salem; two step-children, Mariah and Gracie Berry of Sterling; a brother, Darrell Beckham Jr. and wife Angela of Mt. Vernon; and a sister, Marsha Corineia and husband Josh of Metropolis.

His grandparents and daughter Alexis Beckham preceded him in death.

David enjoyed circle track racing and helping with his brother’s racing team.
