Kenneth L. Beckham, 78, formerly of Meadowbrook, passed away April 9, 2007, at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Alton.

He was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Lewiston to Newman and Nell (Grisbey) Beckham.

He married the former Ann Lamparter on Aug. 20, 1994 in Meadowbrook. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Martha and Gene Calvin of Fosterburg, Connie and Mike Hackethal of Grafton and Phyllis Basham of Grafton; a son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Tammy Beckham of Bethalto, five stepchildren and their spouses, Lonnie and Penny Smith of Broughton, Donny and Pam Smith of Bunker Hill, and Kevin and Michele Lamparter of Gillespie, Brenda and Marvin Hancock of Bethalto and Tammy and Warren Beckham of Bethalto; 22 grandchildren; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Fairchild of Mt. Vernon and Ruth Buford and her husband Dave, of Memphis, Tenn.; and four brothers and their wives, Clyde and Dorothy Beckham of Indiana, Keith and Virginia Beckham and Charles and Meta Beckham, all of Waltonville, and Arthur Beckham of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in infancy, John Steven Beckham; two grandchildren, Eddie Basham and Cheri Copeland; a brother Burl Beckham and a sister, Shirley Jackson.
