Lucy Beckman Of Mt. Vernon Died At Age 80

Mrs. Lucy M. Beckman, 80, of Route 1 died at 4:15 p.m. yesterday at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the South Hickory Hill Christian church of which she was a member, with the Rev. Grant Hawkins officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Friends may call at the Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville, where the body will lie in state after 6 p.m. today.

Mrs. Beckman was born in Jefferson county May 27, 1890, the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Spotts) Wells.

She was married July 22, 1911, to Joe V. Beckman, who preceded her death in 1962.

Surviving relatives include one son, Merritt at home; four daughters, Mrs. Glodine Goble of Mt. Vernon, Miss Vereta Beckman, and Miss Evalena Beckman, and Miss Ramona Beckman, all at home; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. A nephew, Hubert Bitner, resided at the home of his aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, three brothers, and five sisters.
