Philbert Beppler Sr.
Rev. Philbert Beppler Sr., 69, of 1416 S. 13th. St., died at 9:15 A.M. Monday at his home. He was a retired cement mason. Mr. Beppler was born in Jefferson Co. on March 01, 1910, the son of John and Stella [White] Beppler. He was married to Renolda Rice on April 30, 1932 in Mt. Vernon and she survives. He was a minister and evangelist for 26 yrs., and was a member of the Evangelist Messenger's Association, and the MIA. Funeral services will be held at Hughey-Pulley Funeral Homw with the Rev. Everett Lewis and the Rev. Gary Karch officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Besides his wife Renolda, Mr. Beppler is survived by 5 sons Luther [Sonny] Beppler, Philbert Beppler Jr., Frank Beppler, and Jack Beppler, all of Mt. Vernon, and Robert Rice of Springfield; 5 daughters, Dorothy Thompson, Carolyn Borowiak, Glenda Walden,and Peggy Beppler all of Mt. Vernon, and Pat Johnson of Ina; 49 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren. One brother Luther G. Beppler; 3 half brothers, Harrison White of Centralia, Isaac white of Springfield, and Andrew White of Parma Heights, Ohio; and 2 half sisters, Ruth nichols of Opdyke, and Rachel Bright, of Kansas City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, one half brother, and 3 grandchildren.
