Justean Bleeks, 96, of Purvis, Miss., died Nov. 4, 2004, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 3, 1908, in Ina and grew up in Mt. Vernon. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree from Columbia University.

She served two years in the Peace Corps at Montsemot, British Colony. She was a teacher of art for 40 years. She was a member of Purvis United Methodist Church.

Ms. Bleeks was preceded in death by her parents, George and Minnie Bleeks; two brothers, Jack and Harry Bleeks; and two sisters, Bonna Bleeks Barnes and Imogene Bleeks.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at Coaltown Cemetery in Purvis, Miss.
