Pauline Blue
Pauline Blue, 80, of Mt. Vernon died 8:10 p.m. Jan. 15, 2006, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She owned and operated Pauline’s Beauty Shop in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Blue was born in Herrin to Samuel Barry and Anie (Tanner) Chamness on Feb. 2, 1925. She married Ralph Blue in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Feb. 8, 1943; he preceded her in death June 26, 1977. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Mike Davis will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Blue is survived by a daughter, Susan Webb and husband Bill of Jefferson City, Mo.; a son, Samuel Blue and wife Donna of Creal Springs; four grandchildren, Samuel Ralph Blue and wife Gail, Trenton M. Blue, William J. Webb and Mark T. Webb and wife Christy; four great-grandchildren, Marissa Blue, Jacob Blue and wife Erin, Chase Webb and Caleb Webb; a sister, Helen Mattox and husband James of Marion; and a nephew, Kent Mattox and wife Marti of Marion. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Barry and Jerry Blue; and an infant sister. Mrs. Blue completed her two-year degree at the Southern Illinois University Beauty College. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Logan Street Baptist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt.
