A telegram was received by Uncle Johnny Bogan this morning from Dr. S.W. Bogan at Washington D.C. announcing the death of Dr. M.V.B. Bogan at his home in the national capital at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon.

Deceased was a brother of Uncle Johnny Bogan and Mrs.Susan Varnell of this city, and was one of the oldest physicians in Washington.

He was about 68 years of age and had been engaged in professional practice for many years and had a wide acquaintance among the public characters of the country.

At one time he was a large land owner in this county and will be remembered by some of the older residents of Mt. Vernon, although he has not visited this city for 30 years.
