Gerald "Jerry" Louis Bonner
Gerald "Jerry" Louis Bonner, 66, of Dix, died 4 a.m. May 15, 2005, at his home. Mr. Bonner was a retired machinist from The Continental General Tire Co. of Mt. Vernon. He was previously co-owner of the Suzuki Cycle Center with Robert Kolmer in Mt. Vernon. Born in Centralia on April 26, 1939, he was a son of Henry Louis and Janetta (McMillan) Bonner. He and his wife Carolyn (Nelson) Bonner were married in Walnut Hill on Dec. 30, 1961 and she survives. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Centralia and was a graduate of Centralia High School. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Irvin Funeral Home with the Rev. Rich Brzowski officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday or after 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Relay for Life or St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospice. Survivors include his wife Carolyn (Nelson) Bonner of Dix; his mother, Janetta Bonner of Centralia; two sons, Jerry Lee Bonner of Puerto Rico, and Jeffery Wayne Bonner and wife Sandra of Centralia; a daughter, Kathy Ann Decker and husband Troy of Salem; three grandchildren: Gunner and Charli Decker and Erica Bonner; one step granddaughter, Abby Burleyson and three great-grandchildren: Kobe, Kylie and Katie Finney. He was preceded in death by his father.
