Ethel Mae Oathout Book
Mrs. Ethel Mae OATHOUT BOOK, of 1609 South 15th Street, died at 6:25 a.m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 6 days. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Fifteenth Street Church of God, of which she was a member, with the Rev. David LYNCH officiating. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Myers Chapel where friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday. At noon, Saturday, the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour. Mrs. BOOK was born July 11, 1880, in Jefferson County, the daughter of John and Josephine (CACY) ALLEN. In 1898, she was married to Alonzo KELLER, who preceded her in death in 1917. In 1918, she was married to Charles W. OATHOUT, who preceded her in death in 1951. Survivors include two sons, Melvin KELLER of Wadsworth, Ill., and Clifton OATHOAT of Zion, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Juanita TROUT of this city and Mrs. Loretta TUCKER of Waukegan, Ill.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Alma BEVIS of Ina; a sister, Mrs. LaVera HOLTSCLAW of Salem; six grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
