Mrs. Viola Borden, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday in Union county, Ill.

She was the mother Berthold, Olan and Wilford Borden of this city.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at Hopewell Church. The Rev Edward Watson will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Services will be in charge of the Broadway Funeral Home of Cobden, Ill. However, the body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, were friends may call at any time after 10 am Sunday.

Mrs. Borden is survived by three sons, Berthold, Olan and Wilford of Mt. Vernon, and two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Griffey of Sedalia, Mo., and Mrs. Halley Nebughr of Cobden, Ill.
