Samuel Phillip BOSWELL, youngest child of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Boswell, was born near Mt.Vernon, Ill, December 15, 1874, and was 76 years 3 months and 21 days old at the time of his departure from this life. He died at his home in Almyra, Ark., April 6 at 8:10 am 1951. Mr. Boswell had been a printer and newspaper man and had held a number of important and lucrative positions in that field. On April 7, 1921, he was united in marriage to Miss Louella Wheeler of Almyra and entered the Almyra Post Office as Assistant Postmaster, which position he held until Nov.1947. He was Mayor of Almyra 23 years and always worked for the good of the community. A good friend, he always had time to listen and answer the smallest plea for help. Late in life he joined the local Methodist Church and had lived a consciencious Christian life ever since. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Luella Boswell, a number of nephews and nieces an a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church by his pastor, Rev. Edward Hollenbeck, assisted by Rev. H. B. Bailey of Dallas, Texas, and Rev. R. J. Rail, and the remains were laid to rest in the Almyra cemetery. Pallbears were W. H. Scheuer, A. R. Kestner, James Pearman, Roy Vice, Lawrence Bennett and R. L. Sebree.
