Syble Bridges, 90, of Mt. Vernon died 1:15 p.m. Oct. 15, 2004, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Bridges was born June 21, 1914, in Conrad, Iowa, to John and Dell (Uhles) Campbell.

She married Raymond H. Bridges Sept. 4, 1934, in Pinckneyville; he died July 20, 1982.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Mt. Vernon. Josepha Lecke will officiate. Those attending the funeral services are asked to go directly to the cemetery chapel on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral services at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Bridges is survived by a son, Dennis R. Bridges and wife Nancy of The Villages, Fla.; grandsons Thomas Bridges of Orlando, Fla., and David Bridges and wife Megan of Burlington, Vt.; and a great-grandson, Bennett Bridges of Burlington, Vt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a grandson, Steven Bridges.

Mrs. Bridges was of the Baptist faith. She attended Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital Auxiliary.
