Mrs. Ssam Britton Dies at Hospital; Rites Thursday Mrs. Cleora Marie Britton of 1005 Lamar Avenue, wife of Sam Britton, died at 10:40 o'clock this morning at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. Her age was 44 years, 11 months and two days. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past 17 days. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Bird Green officiating. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 1:00 pm Wednesday. Mrs. Britton was born April 4, 1905 in Wayne county, the daughter of John and Maggie May (Dugan) Richardson. She was married to Sam Britton, who survives. Mrs. Britton had been an employee of the Mt. Vernon Garment Co. for 14 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Martin of Mt. Vernon; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson of Bluford; four brothers, Dwight Richardson of Belle Rive and Kermit Cassel and Bertie Richardson of Mt. Vernon; and two grandchildren.
