Ruth Ann (Bodine) Brooks
Ruth Ann Brooks, 48, Mt. Vernon, died 7:30 a.m. Dec. 8, 1992, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Brooks was a phlebotomy lab technician at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. She was born June 6, 1944, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Luther and Dollie A. (Mathus) Bodine. March 23, 1982, in Mt. Vernon, she married Edward Allen Brooks, who survives. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating. Burial will follow at South Hickory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brooks is survived by one daughter, Dolly Shaw and husband, Donnie, of Belle Rive; one son, Jeffery Sledge and wife, Dee, of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Harry Bodine and wife, Wanda, and Jerry L. Bodine, all of Mt. Vernon and Harvey Bodine and wife Kristi, of Irvington; two sisters, Dorothy Baker and husband, Donald, of Texico and Betty Ilbery of Centralia; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brooks was a member of South Hickory Hill Christian Church and American Society of Clinical Pathologists. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
