Elizabeth Brown Of Sesser Died At Age 95

Elizabeth Ann Brown, 95, of Sesser died 8:50 a.m. March 14, 1998, at Mt. Vernon Care Center.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Brown was born Aug. 14, 1902, in Jefferson County, a daughter of Harry and Ann Wells.

In St. Louis, she married Burtice A. Brown, who died Dec. 25, 1964.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Dale Brown officiating. Burial will be in South Hickory Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Brown is survived by one son, Lester Brown of Anna; four daughters, Rosella Marcum of Mt. Vernon, Hilda Phelps of Mt. Vernon, Betty McMahan and husband John of Lacon and Wilma McMahan and husband Billie of Mt. Vernon; one daughter-in-law, Clara Brown of Sesser; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 50 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one brother, one sister, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.

She was a member of the Church of God, Sesser.
