Frank R. Brown
Graveside funeral services for Frank R. Brown, 53, Valier, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Hopewell Cemetery, with the Rev. C. W. Coats officiating. Mr. Brown died Friday to 8:30 a.m. at his home. He was a former Mt. Vernon resident. The family will receive friends between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. today at Hughey-Pulley Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born in Mt. Vernon on Dec. 9, 1922, the son of William E. and Emma H. (Beauford) Brown. On Dec. 9, 1952, he married Bernice Sprague, who preceded him in death on July 4, 1970. On Dec. 12, 1975, at Valier, he married Emma Callahan, who survives. He was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict and served a total of ten years in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Camp Ground Baptist Church and the American Legion. Besides his wife he is survived by one brother, William C. "Bud" Brown of Mt. Vernon; three sisters, Mrs. Edna E. Keef of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Ruth L. Cope of Bluford, and Mrs. Doris Hughey of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
