Mrs. Zola Bumpus Dies Last Night; Rites Tomorrow

Mrs. Zola Bumpus, of 508 south 19th street, died at 11 O'clock last night at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past ten days. She was 72 years, ten months and 16 days of age.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p. m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Gerald Gulley and the Rev. Otho Williams will officiate and burial will be in Bethel Memorial cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time.

Mrs. Bumpus was born September 19, 1885 in Spring Garden, the daughter of Silas and Edna (Thurman) Leonard.

She was married to Alonzo Bumpus, who preceded her in death in 1950.

Mrs. Bumpus was a member of the Wesley Methodist church She is survived by her mother. Edna McCollum of West Frankfort; one daughter, Mrs. Russel Quinn of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Jewel Harrel of West Frankfort; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
