Charles E. Bundy
CHARLES E. BUNDY CLAIMED BY DEATH Charles E. Bundy, 65, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Walnut Hill vicinity passed away at his home two miles north of Walnut Hill last night about 9:30 o'clock after a lengthy illness. Mr. Bundy first become ill last June and took a trip to the western part of the country, visiting relatives and friends in Idaho and returned home a few months ago, apparently much improved in health. About two weeks ago, however, he began failing again, the illness quickly assuming serious proportions. The funeral services will be held at the Little Grove church tomorrow, Wednesday, afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Solomon of Kines in charge. Burial will take place in the Little Grove cemetery. Mr. Bundy is survived by his widow, and the following children: Mrs. Gladys Sanders of Walnut Hill, Mrs. Iva Breeze of Idaho, Mrs. Ula Hough, of near Walnut Hill, Mrs. Lola Jones, of Centralia, Earl Bundy of Centralia, George Bundy of Montana, Carl Bundy of California, Oren Bundy of Walnut Hill, Guy and Deward Bundy, who resided with the parents. Mr. Bundy was born and reared on the farm where he died. With the exception of occassional visits with relatives in other parts of the country, he had resided at Walnut Hill all his life and occupied a most prominent part in the life of the community. He was a member of one of the oldest families of this part of Illinois and was a cousin of the late W.F. Bundy,prominent citizen and lawyer of Centralia.
