Wilroy "Jake" Byars
Wilroy "Jake" Byars, 64, of Route 7 died at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born in Jefferson County on July 4, 1915, the son of Ben and Mary (French) Byars. On July 30, 1936, in Wayne County, he married Vivian Chambliss, who survives. Mr. Byars was a farmer and was very active in the Otterbein United Methodist Church at Bluford. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Omer Jones officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Besides his wife, Vivian, Mr. Byars is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Orilla) Rosendale of Augusta and Mrs. Roy Dean (Glenda) Bradford of Mt. Vernon; five grandchildren, Burdette and Brice Rosendale and Marcia, Julie and Carol Bradford; three sisters, Mrs. Tom (Elizabeth) Molenhour of Iuke, and Mrs. Gale (Doris) Pierce of Bluford and Mrs. John (Ruth) Schnake of Centralia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edgar and Charlie; and his parents."
