Anna Callahan Dies At Age 69; Rites Saturday Mrs. Anna Florence Callahan of 217 south Sixth street died at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 69 years, nine months, and three days. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Dodson and the Rev. Bird Green officiating. Burial will be in East Salem cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Callahan was born May 11, 1892, in Jefferson county, the daughter of Lewis and Julia (Williams) Highsmith. She was first married to Willis A. Patterson, who was killed during World War I. She later married Thomas Callahan, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Sharon Callahan; a brother, Albert Highsmith; and two sisters, Laura Highsmith and Mrs. Julia Pettit, all of Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Callahan was a member of the East Side Baptist church and the Royal Neighbors of America.
