Alfred Callais
Alfred Callais died at his home near Marlow, Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock January 26, 1920, after an illness of eleven days.
February 15, 1920 Mt. Vernon Register News Alfred Callais Alfred CALLAIS died at his home near Marlow, Monday evening at 7:30 o'clock, January 26, 1920, after an illness of eleven days. He was born at East St. Louis, Ill., November 27, 1855, being at the time of his death 64 years and 2 months of age. He was married three times, his last wife preceding him to the great beyond just eighteen days before. She died January 8, 1920. He leaves to mourn his loss three sons and two daughters, also two sisters and several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. His children are as follows: Mrs. Mary E. HARRIS, Webber Township; George S. CALLAIS, Northfield, Minn.; John F. CALLAIS, Webber Township; Joseph A. CALLAIS, Webber Township; Mrs. Madeline VINEYARD, East St. Louis, Ill. All were at his bedside at the time of his death. He was a kind and loving father and a kind and good neighbor to all that knew him. He was a member of the Methodist Church at East St. Louis for about twenty-two years. Funeral services were conducted at Hickory Hill Church Wednesday at 1:00 o'clock by Rev. H. V. LOWERY. Interment at the Hickory Hill Cemetery.
