George Washington Capps, son of Harvey and Sallie Capps of Franklin Co. Il., was born Oct. 27, 1868, died Feb. 19, 1939, at the age of 70 yrs., 3 mo. & 22 days.

George was married to Emma Jane Page on May 17, 1892.

To this union was born twelve children, four of them preceding him in death, leaving Alonzo Capps of Ewing, Il., Marion Capps of Belle Rive, Il., Eulah Stubblefield of Dahlgren, Il., Levi Capps, Guy Capps, Pearl Casey & Fred Capps, all of Belle Rive, Il., Zella Payne of Dahlgren, IL.; also one sister Allice Drew of Belle Rive, Il., and twelve grandchildren, and many friends and other relatives to sympathize with the family.

George professed religion many years ago, and he & his wife joined the U. B. Church at Oak Hill, and during his sickness stated he was ready to die.
