Hiram CARMICHAEL Dies Early Today: (Mt. Vernon, Dec. 6, 1944)

A grandson of Hester Upton Carmichael Stewart, Hiram Carmichael of 811 south 10th Street died at 4 a.m. today at the convalescent home on 411 South 15th Street.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Myers Chapel.

A coal miner, Mr. Carmichael was 81 years old, three months and nine days old.

He was born August 27, 1863 in Monroe County, Ill.

Surviving are one son, Gordon Carmichael and six grandchildren.

The body will remain at Myers.

(Body was buried at West Grove Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, then later exhumed and brought to Edinburg Cemetery for burial.)
