NOTE: there are two obits with differing information on where she lived. MRS. E. CARPENTER DIES AT HOME HERE AFTER LONG ILLNESS Mrs. Nellie Carpenter, 510 S. Poplar, died at her home this morning after a lingering illness. She was a nativ eof Wayne county, the daughter of Knight Reed and Roseann Matter (sic Mateer) Reed. She was the wife of the late Ed F. Carpenter. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of the Methodist church. She lived most of her life in Centralia. Survivors include two sons, Albert and Earl; two daughters, Mrs. Gussie Hoyt and Miss Ann Carpenter, all ..... sorry the remaining is missing from my newspaper clipping
Source: Probably Centralia newspaper Nellie Carpenter Dies Early Today Mrs. Nellie Carpenter, lifetime resident of Jefferson county, died at the home of her daughter, Miss Anne Carpenter, in Centralia at 3:00 o'clock this morning. She had been in ill health for the past year. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Boggs Funeral Home in Centralia. Mrs. Carpenter is survived by two sons, Earl and Albert Carpenter of RFD 5, Centralia; two daughters, Mrs. Gussie Hoyt of RFD 5, Centralia and Miss Anna Carpenter of Centralia; and one brother, Humes Reed of RFD 7, Mt. Vernon.
