Southern Flagman Dies Suddenly at Work Here Today William A. Carpenter of Princeton, Ind., a flagman for a Southern Railway Co. freight train, collapsed and died suddenly in the railroad yards to Mt. Vernon about ?:00 o'clock this morning. Mr. Carpenter was working with the train crew when he collapsed, but none of his fellow workers saw him. A boy on his way to Mt. Vernon high school found the body and went to a nearby house to call police. The boy was taken to Myers Chapel, from where it was taken to Princeton, Ind., for funeral services and burial. Coroner Ben Roeder, who conducted an injury (sic inquiry) in the case, said that Mr. Carpenter's death was apparently due to a heart attack. Mr. Carpenter was born in Jefferson county, the son of JEfferson and Lucinda (Osborn) Carpenter. He was marraied to Ona Smith, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William of PRinceton; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice Barrett and Sarita Lou Carpenter of Princeton; a brother, John of Princeton; and two sisters, Mrs. Joel Leuty and Mrs. Sam Johnson of Salem.

Carpenter Rites at Princeton Funeral services fro William Carpenter, a Southern Railway Co. employee who died suddenly from a heart attack here yesterday, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday at the WRight Funeral Home in Princeton, Ind. Mr. Carpenter, who resided in Princeton, was a former resident of Jefferson county and had a number of friends here.
